You’ve seen it on the runway, at your local mall; you might even see it when looking at some old childhood photos. Neon is back kids! If you are brave enough to tackle such a tricky color for your big day I do have some tips to help you pull it off!

Consider adding an unexpected neon pop to your makeup. Pick a bright hot pink as your lip color or use a neon orange eyeliner. Choose to highlight either your eyes or lips, however do not do both or you might end up looking like a clown.

I believe a manicure and pedicure is a must prior to your big day so why not chose a neon nail color instead of the classic French manicure. You can also make a statement through your jewelry, but remember the words of the great Coco Chanel “before leaving the house, a lady should stop, look in the mirror, and remove one piece of jewelry.” Brides, just remember: This is your day and it is ok to take some liberties with your look!

You can select a fun fluorescent colored frock for your bridesmaids to wear on your big day, but not everyone can pull off a head to toe neon look. Consider selecting a neutral color like black, grey, ivory, or even navy and then adding pops of neon. You can also step a little more outside the box and go with separates. Select an ivory or white top and pair it with a neon skirt.

Groom and groomsmen:

When it comes to adding neon to menswear let the boutonnieres do  most of the talking and then add some more color through socks and even shoes.

Neon really does work well in contemporary, modern and rustic settings. Personally I think it adds a fresh twist to an outdoor rustic wedding. When planning a wedding, remember it is all those little details that make a big impact. Start with a neon-colored invitation then carry the color theme throughout the event. Don’t go crazy with neon linens, but infuse the neon hues in unexpected places. Flowers are the easiest element to add this exciting colors. Create a signature drink that matches your color scheme, use neon table numbers and escort cards. Get a neon sign to hang behind the sweetheart table or make custom bean bag boards. The most important thing to remember when using neon is to let it be the supporting character of your wedding decor story.
